How do solar export limits work in Victoria?
Your electricity distributor sets how much solar power your home can send back to the grid. The limit depends on your address, your connection and the local network: it can be lower in constrained areas, and some networks now offer flexible limits that change with network conditions. It caps what you export, not what your panels generate for your own use. Distributor pre-approval is needed before install, and your quote confirms the export limit for your address.
What is the income limit for the Victorian solar rebate?
Combined household taxable income must be under $150,000 a year. The cap dropped from $210,000 on 1 July 2026, so older articles quoting the higher figure are out of date. The home also needs to be worth under $3 million.
Can I get the rebate if my Torquay home already has solar?
